Stability Through Dialogue: How PSP Aligns Sustainability and Economic Reality

At the BCV event “Les Pros de l’immobilier” on 18 November 2025, Giacomo Balzarini, CEO of PSP Swiss Property, outlined why the future of the Swiss real estate sector requires more than regulatory adjustments or ecological ambition. Sustainable progress is achieved when environmental objectives and economic realities are aligned - and when all stakeholders engage in a continuous, fact-based dialogue.

The discussion came at a timely moment, following the adoption of the new cantonal energy law, which has placed sustainability and economic feasibility at the centre of industry debate.

In his keynote, Balzarini emphasised that long-term stability in the real estate market cannot be achieved through regulation or ecological objectives alone. Instead, it depends on the alignment of sustainability goals with economic realities, and on the cooperation between policymakers, financial institutions and real estate companies. For PSP Swiss Property, this balance is a defining element of responsible, long-term asset management.

As part of the event, PSP presented a newly produced short film, included in this article alongside impressions from the roundtable. The film illustrates what PSP has developed over the past 25 years: resilient assets, future-oriented economic spaces and projects that contribute to the quality of Switzerland’s urban environment.

Heritage elements appear in the film primarily as examples of sustainable transformation within the existing built fabric, an area in which PSP has established a consistent track record.

Sustainable transformation of the existing built environment, delivered with precision and responsibility.
